Saturday the 5th of November saw the opening of ‘The Art of The Terraces’ Exhibition at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, and of course Clobber Magazine were there to cover the event!

This ground breaking exhibition (the first ever of its kind) is the result of a collaboration between author and founder of the 80’s Casual brand Dave Hewitson, along with Peter O’Toole and Adam Gill (from Grammar Studios) and Jens Wagner.

The exhibition has been 6 long years in the making and features artwork and installations inspired by working class match going lads from the 1980’s and 90’s.

There’s also plenty of Casual Clobber and trainers on show, not to mention a brilliant installation depicting an 1980’s bedroom, complete with red, grey and black wallpaper, a Commodore 64 computer and a Subbuteo set!

Of course its not all about visuals, and the exhibition details the history of the Casual movement which (whether you like to admit it or not) began in Liverpool!

For me personally it brought back a lot of wonderful memories, and I am not ashamed to say that I was a tad emotional as I made my way around the exhibits.

The Art Of The Terraces exhibition is a must for anyone attached to the Casual scene, and it runs until 12th March 2023.

Admission is free of charge and you can leave a cash contribution if you so wish, so be sure to withdraw some dough from the cashpoint before you arrive!
